Leeds United are now reportedly prioritising a deal to sign a new set piece specialist, who’s available for just £11m in the January transfer window.

Farke praises "special" Anfield performances

In many ways, Leeds’ 0-0 draw against Liverpool perfectly summed up the month of Premier League action they’ve just enjoyed. From on the brink, Daniel Farke has not only salvaged his job, he’s added an extra layer of security. Leeds have simply been excellent ever since their manager has switched to a 3-5-2 system and their Anfield display was no different.

Farke couldn’t help but praise his side at full-time, telling reporters: “It was always clear that we would need a special performance to travel away with a point.

“It was clear there would be several periods where we had to suffer but we didn’t allow them clear-cut chances. We needed a really balanced performance to return with a hard-fought point but we really deserved a clean sheet, which is good for the mood and also for the confidence. Certainly a really good day.”

Up next, the Whites are set to play host to Manchester United at Elland Road in what could become a memorable derby day for all involved.

Victory could leave Farke’s side as many as 10 points clear of the dropzone if other results go their way this weekend. Heading into the second-half of the campaign, that would be a dream-like scenario.

Even better than Stach: Leeds start talks to sign "midfield general"

Leeds United could pick up an even better signing than Anton Stach by landing this high-earning midfield star.

Those at Elland Road seem unlikely to rest on their laurels in the January transfer window either, and are reportedly already seeking reinforcements before the end of the month.

Leeds prioritising move to sign Danilho Doekhi

According to TeamTalk, Leeds have now made Danilho Doekhi a prime target – prioritising a move to sign the Union Berlin centre-back in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old is enjoying a standout season in the Bundesliga, but has just six months left on his current deal, allowing Leeds to swoop in and land a move worth just €13m (£11m) this month.

As the numbers show, Doekhi wouldn’t just be a defensive signing for Farke this month. He’d also play a major part in Leeds’ attack, having become one of the biggest set-piece threats in the Bundesliga this season – scoring four goals.

Next to Rodon, who is currently out injured, the Dutchman could take Leeds’ threat to a whole new level in that area and that would be crucial for their survival hopes.

At £11m, it should be a no-brainer for the 49ers, who need to hand Farke better depth in central defence following the German’s decision to switch to a back three.
