Valencia midfielder Pablo Hernandez has signed for Swansea for a reported £5.5million as Michael Laudrup looks to keep up his fine start in South Wales.
Just hours after Swansea sold star man Scott Sinclair to Manchester City they signed the replacement, Hernandez, who has been a crucial part of Valencia’s overachieving squad for a number of years now after coming through their impressive youth set up.
The 27-year-old has played under new Swans boss Laudrup at Getafe and is clearly delighted to once again link up with the manager.
“I’m very happy to become a Swansea City player,” Hernandez told the Swansea website.
“There were offers from other clubs, but this was the only club I wanted to join,” he said.
“I want to thank the club and Michael Laudrup for making me feel like a very important player. Now I want to repay that faith on the football field.”
“Swansea is a very important football club and will only keep getting better. They were a good side last year and look even better so far this season.”
